The text offers a comparative reading of two recent works: Tourism and ICTs: Advances in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability (Guevara Plaza, Cerezo Medina, and Navarro Jurado, eds., 2024) and Tourism, Knowledge and Learning (Jernsand, Persson, and Lundberg, eds., 2023). Drawing on both publications, the review critically examines two contemporary modes of knowledge production in tourism: on the one hand, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and predictive approaches; on the other, epistemological, pedagogical, and experiential perspectives linked to learning, co-creation, and critical reflection. In this sense, the manuscript seeks to contribute a relevant discussion to current debates on digital transformation, emerging methodologies, and the construction of tourism knowledge.
