Nota critica: Turismo regenerativo y soluciones basadas en la naturaleza

Actualmente el turismo mundial enfrenta retos sociales y ambientales críticos. Para atender este panorama, emergen dos enfoques teórico-prácticos de manejo de recursos naturales: el turismo regenerativo (TR) y las soluciones basadas en la naturaleza (SbN). Este artículo analiza los principios usados por ambos enfoques, sus convergencias y discrepancias. Los resultados muestran que ambos abordan desafíos sociales y comparten siete principios (enfoque sistémico, restauración ecológica, especifico del contexto, beneficio comunitario y co-creación, conexión profunda y empatía, impacto positivo neto y equidad). Sin embargo, difieren en la interpretación de la restauración ecológica para mejorar la regeneración de los ecosistemas. Mientras que el TR atiende la composición y estructura de los ecosistemas, las SbN también consideran restablecer los procesos ecológicos. En ambos enfoques las acciones se orientan en remediar, más que en prevenir.
